The Senior Editor will create exceptional content and provide expert textiles insight and analysis for subscribers. The role holder will be an ambassador for WGSN to further the credibility and recognition of the business with media interviews, presentations and the chairing of seminars and conferences. They should constantly strive to improve the content offering by intently understanding the global markets of WGSN subscribers.

With an innate understanding of their area of specialism, they are exceptionally articulate in both written and visual communication. Being highly skilled in interpreting the textile market they are sought out internally and externally, as a trusted industry expert. The Senior Editor will contribute and manage projects, providing direction in their area of expertise by building and maintaining strong, and global cross-department relationships.

With a focus on personal content creation, they feed into their department’s global content strategy and supervise content creation from more junior members of the team. The Senior Editor for Textiles will deliver:

• Content Production – write, commission and schedule Textiles content taking ownership for the editing of published reports and analysis
• Content Direction – collaborating with the Head of Design & Youth Culture and the Materials, Textiles & Knit Director they will enable the content direction for Textiles across the global WGSN platforms & channels
• Content Presentation – be the voice of Textiles for WGSN at clients meetings, tradeshows & events and media engagements

Skills:

• Strong business to business journalist ability with exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to create textile market analysis through unrivalled market knowledge
• Extensive career path within content or design, demonstrates a deep understanding of textiles – seen to be and/or known as a thought leader in textiles with an active network of key contacts within the market
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work within an international team to ensure production of content is of a consistently high standard in line with editorial guidelines
• Ability to interpret internal and client feedback to consistently develop the standard and relevance of content within Textiles
• Solves complex problems in straightforward manner and in ambiguous situations; analyses possible solutions using technical experience and judgement and own initiative keeping within editorial guidelines
