Employing 150 people across 3 facilities in Ireland they produce over 1.5 million metres of aircraft fabric. and carpet each year. Annual sales exceed €30 million and they have experienced rapid growth in recent years

Experienced  Textile Designer Vacancy
Botany are looking for an experienced Designer who will be involved with all stages of product development.
From receiving the brief to designing and detailing the fabrics and following the developments right through to production.
The role will be a combination of processing fabric designs through the mill, working on new collections, colouring designs, placing relevant yarn orders, developing high quality finishes and provide guidance to other designers.
The successful candidate will bring leadership in the development of new and creative textiles that meet strict industry standards and support team projects resulting in enhanced productivity.
Essential Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years experience in a Woven Textile Design role /production department or mill experience preferred
Extensive knowledge and expertise in woven textile design
CAD skills (ASPO, Pointcarre or other comparable program)
Recommendations necessary along with portfolio of past work.
Ability to multi-task and work in a challenging, fast paced environment with tight deadlines
Knowledge of woven textile production
Excellent verbal and written skills.
Willingness to work cooperatively in a team environment
Ability to own a project from design concept through to production hand off
Must be highly detail-oriented, meticulous and creative
Oversee the introduction of new seat fabrics to ensure that they meet the demanding requirements and test criteria of the aircraft interior market
Ensure all their fabrics and fabric constructions  prior to introduction are thoroughly tested for all possibly end use situations
Oversee the introduction of new yarns, finishing techniques and fabric constructions to ensure that they meet the demanding specifications of the aviation industry
Continually test existing fabrics in production to ensure that they continue to meet the specifications as set out on our technical data sheets
Oversee, monitor and carry out relevant tests on new raw material suppliers or changes in techniques from existing suppliers to ensure they meet their product specification requirements
Work with their quality team to investigate and solve any quality complaints from our airline  customers
