The School of Crafts and Design at the University for the Creative Arts has a well established reputation for developing talented and creative graduates capable of working at all levels in the textile industry.

An exciting opportunity has arisen at their Farnham campus for a 0.4 Lecturer in Textiles Weave. Their course celebrates all that is rich in textile history, design and making skills. They are acclaimed for their high end craftsmanship, with a new Course Leader and HOS, their vision is to explore new terrain and push boundaries, to stretch their skills and traditions beyond what it is thought possible.

They are looking to appoint an inspirational lecturer who has a deep understanding and experience of teaching Textiles in a HE Environment, including teaching a range of craft and design practices. A deep understanding of specialist dye processes on a variety of yarn/materials and crucially teaching a range of diverse specialist woven techniques, to create traditional high quality weaving, alongside an understanding for more experimental woven structures.

You will be able to work flexibly with a team and support the Course Leader’s vision and progressive programme within the new School ethos.

Experience of undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching, good verbal, written and visual communication skills, organisational ability, and personal initiative is required. You will also contribute to the School of Craft and Design research culture at the Farnham campus.
